Squad Manchester United - Season 1999-00

1998-99 Season Overview

The 1998-99 season was Manchester United's seventh season in the FA Premier League and their 24th overall in the top flight of English football. The season was a successful one for the club, as they won the FA Cup and finished second in the league.

Manchester United's season began with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford. The club then went on to win their first four matches of the season, before suffering their first defeat of the campaign away to Arsenal. Manchester United recovered from this setback to win their next six matches, and they were top of the league by Christmas.

Despite this, the club did win the FA Cup, beating Newcastle United 2-0 in the final. This was Manchester United's first FA Cup win since 1994, and it was the club's 11th overall.
