Manchester United Beat Sheffield United 4-2 in Impressive Premier League Victory

Bruno Fernandes Stars with Two Goals for Red Devils

Old Trafford, April 24, 2024

Manchester United cruised to a comfortable 4-2 victory over Sheffield United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, with Bruno Fernandes once again proving to be the star of the show for the Red Devils. The Portuguese midfielder netted twice, with Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford also getting on the scoresheet as United earned back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time this season.

Despite Sheffield United taking an early lead, United dominated the match, enjoying 80% of the possession and creating numerous chances. Fernandes opened the scoring with a trademark curling effort from the edge of the area, before Dalot extended the lead with a stunning strike from distance. Rashford then added a third before half-time with a clinical finish after a surging run down the left flank.

Sheffield United showed great resilience in the second half, pulling one back through Oli McBurnie, but Fernandes restored United's two-goal advantage with a well-taken penalty. The Blades' Rhian Brewster netted a late consolation, but it was ultimately a comfortable win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.

The victory moves United up to seventh in the Premier League table, just two points behind fifth-placed Arsenal. Sheffield United, meanwhile, remain rooted to the bottom of the standings and could be relegated on Sunday should Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City.
